This Week in Cardinal Pride - 10/18/26

Hello, everyone!

It was an incredibly long weekend, but it was so very worth it! We had a great performance to honor our seniors at the senior night football game on Friday night and a simply phenomenal day on Saturday at the Missouri State Marching Association State Championship. Your Cardinal Pride brought home the MSMA Class 5 State Championship!

The kids were tremendous in prelims, finishing in 2nd place only 0.2 points behind 1st place Branson. That result qualified the band to perform in finals competition, where they showed just how absolutely outstanding they really are. They were awarded the Class 5 Outstanding Music, Outstanding Visual, and Outstanding General Effect caption awards, as well as finishing in 1st place for the MSMA State Championship! (Note: the band’s finals score would have also been 1st place in Class 6.)

The day did not start as smoothly as we had hoped, as we had some equipment truck issues. It didn’t deter us for long, as our staff and parent army were able to get all of the things from that truck into the other two trucks, as well as several of our parent vehicles. Thank you so very much to those folks, as well as all the parents who helped move equipment and feed our kids and just take such good care of them! It is so great to know that no matter what a long day like Saturday brings us, we have so many great folks pitching in to help us out.

This week is the final week of our competitive season. We will have our Friends and Family rehearsal/performance on Tuesday evening. We will rehearse from 6pm until a little after 8pm. We will then change into our uniforms and perform the show twice for everyone in attendance. You are welcome to come and watch rehearsal if you would like; we just ask that you not be distracting to the band while the rehearsal is going on.

On Friday, we will have a “regular” morning rehearsal from 7-9am, load the trucks, and head out for the St. Louis BOA Super Regional. We perform at 1:15pm on Saturday. Please refer to my previous message for details about the BOA trip. I will also be available during Tuesday’s rehearsal and at Wednesday’s parent/teacher conferences if you would like to discuss anything. These kids are awesome, and I hope you’ll be able to take the opportunity to come out and see them on Tuesday evening!

As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. Have a great week!
