Hello, everyone!
We are now officially into the last two weeks of the competitive season! The kids had a great rehearsal Saturday, and we are very excited to continue cleaning and refining the show to put the best possible product on the field for the State contest this Saturday, and BOA next Saturday.
Friday night is our final regular season home football game. During pre-game, seniors and their parents will be recognized. Parents will need to meet their band student behind the band bleachers around 6:15pm, and someone from administration will be getting everyone organized. Call time for the game is the normal 4pm down on the field. Dinner will be at 5pm, and the band will head down to celebrate our seniors around 6:20pm. The game should progress as usual from then on. We will wear show uniforms for the game, and students will need their blue camp t-shirt, black athletic shorts/leggings/tights, long black socks, and marching shoes.
Saturday is the Missouri State Marching Association State Championship. The itinerary is linked below. It is easily the longest day of our season, and everyone is going to be very tired at some point during the day. However, if everyone will listen and do what we ask them to do, I believe it can be a very successful day. I truly believe that these kids have a chance to bring home a Class 5 State Championship. They have worked incredibly hard and I can’t wait to show them off at the contest! Students will need their show t-shirt, black athletic shorts/leggings/tights, long black socks, and marching shoes.
I will have a separate post about the BOA contest later this week. There are several event-specific things to deal with that need their own post. Also, as we near the end of the competitive season, if you still owe band and/or booster food fees, and you are able, I would ask that you please get those taken care of. The food fees have covered all of the meals that the kids have, and will eat during the season. That is the priority. ($100 payable to the Webb City Band Boosters) A big portion of the band fees ($300 payable to Webb City High School) are meant to cover the cost of our BOA hotel stay, which is coming up next week.
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. Have a great week!
